Love this place. Really great price point. Long time resident of the Castro. One of the best Mediterranean food places in the city. Vegan friendly. Get the large combination app plate and chicken kebab or almost anything else! Staff are also wonderful!

Good Mediterranean food in a relaxed, friendly environment.

The food is excellent (I had the lentil salad and chicken kabobs), portions are good and the price is right. Service was fast and friendly. It's a great place to go for an evening out since it's also close to the Castro bars. Definite recommend.

Excellent...the atmosphere, the FOOD, the wait staff AND THE FOOD. Did I say FOOD? I'll be back many times. You can't go wrong.

Walked past it many times but finally had a chance to eat there. Very delicious! I had the goat cheese & Walnut filled dates (which caught my eye to come in). Those were so sweet and savory. I had the combo entree plate. I can't recall the names of the food but it had a cinnamon filo filled with chicken. Spinokopita that was crunchy, filled with spinach and cheese. 3 inch wide lavash roll thing that had herbs and a spread. They close early, get there soon! Very delicious!!

Good food and service. We arrived early and watched the room fill up. The cold cucumber yogurt soup and a combination plate left me full and satisfied. A companion had a special that was a slice of a lamb meat in philo dough that was pan fried. Interesting idea.

Great place for some solid Mediterranean food, a comfortable, casual atmosphere, and very nice, albeit slightly slow service (when they are crowded). Their wine selection complements their menu, and the dishes were large enough for two meals, at least for me, as a not-so-large Asian female. Glad to have this dining option in the Castro.

This place is great for hosting large parties! I recently had my graduation dinner here with a party of about 10 and they say us comfortably and served us food family style. Their house red is great, the service is really friendly, and most importantly the food is delicious! Great vegetarian options!

Great food, friendly service and cute ambiance with outdoor seating too. They have lunch specials but they only offer about $1 off. The main downside to this place is there are no seafood options at all. They do at least have a few vegetarian options which are yummy. But they really should add some salmon or Mediterranean Seabass.

Pomegranate chicken is THE BEST.

We loved our meal here - La Mediterranee is a wonderful local cafe. Crowds of friends, couples and families all coalesce here to create a happy environment. Our waiter was so charming - the type you want to sit and join you. He took great care of us.The food is comforting and delicious. From the avgolemono soup to the filo dough variety plate to the special moussaka, everything was satisfying. I was especially excited they had one of my favourite Greek desserts, galaktoboureko. It was a different presentation, but delicious nevertheless.It's a small dining room, and likely you'll have to wait during peak hours...but it's worth it!

Bad customer service. You order your food, and wait... Wait... Wait... So the waiter comes and says that someone put our order somewhere else and they didn't prepare our food... What would reasonable to do: put our our order before others, offer some bread, no, nothing.Overpriced food, small portions... (Appetizer with four small dates? C'mon guys...)

Probably my favorite place to eat in the short visit I had in SF, the lule, beef pie, and tea were all fantastic. The soup of the day (tomato) was a bit underwhelming, and the raisins in the rice were not my thing, but I understand why they were there. Super fast, super nice service.

Good Food and Service

Delicious food and good service!The pomegranate chicken is a must and do get the cold yogurt cucumber soup too! 😋

Ordered delivery from here. Food subpar and not worth the prices. Got the chicken pomegranate, chicken was dry, potato salad tasted not that fresh, more like a weird cold mash. Meatballs were ok. But the rice is more like a sweet rice pilaf and all in all the dinner entrees don’t reflect a price of $18.50. It’s more worth like $12 max. Won’t order from here again.

Had their Special Saffron Chicken Kebab. Their presentation is great, wait for food wasn’t long. I was impressed with their warm Pita bread, Skewers and the soup. Will be back again.

I have lived in SF for 25+ years. Love the Castro eateries BUT this place though the food was excellent the service was questionable. Would love to know why the only person of color was asked to show their ID when paying with their bank card??? Never again will I step food in this place again.

The food is good and consistent. I love the Moroccan mint tea. Good desserts and friendly staff.

This restaurant has a lovely decor and food to match! So far I've only had the pleasure of getting take out, but I will absolutely be back. I had the best chicken shawarma I've had in ages. Even for take out it was beautifully packaged along side a salad, hummus, and bread triangles. The shawarma was flavorful and yet light and kept a lovely texture, leaving you full with enough food yet light and not bogged down. If you haven't already, I definitely recommend giving them a try!

Mediterranean food and the setting here is great. Came here on a Saturday. Staff treated us so nice. It has a cool interior.

Terrific authentic Mediterranean dishes; enjoyed the scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese, and the lamb and chicken with the lavash sandwich- includes rice and soup. Baklava was very authentic and not too sweet. Our waitress was very nice and David too. Found this restaurant from my Mom, who has tried their catered food at work many times. Thanks !!!!
